Temporary Trials and Tribulations
A few days ago, my house was broken into and several items were stolen. Knowing some thief has been in my home is very unsettling to me. I haven't felt truly comfortable in my own home since it happened. However, even in the midst of this temporary tribulation, God is good. No one was home at the time of the burglary so no one was hurt. My home wasn't ransacked (in fact, my usual state of disorganized disarray may have confused the thief - LOL). Everything stolen can be replaced. The thief was caught and arrested the same day. My DD's bicycle has already been recovered. One of the items stolen and not recovered was my digital camera. So I won't be able to post pictures for a while. I know that eventually I'll feel safe again. I'm counting my blessings and counting on my sewing to relax me and help me regain my sense of security.

Oh no! So sorry to hear that!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm soooo sorry to hear this! Now that my girls are grown and away from the apt more, this has become one of my worries! Sorry about your digital camera, hope it can be replaced soon and glad the thief was caught!
ReplyDeleteOh no! I'm so sorry to hear about the break-in. I hope that your belongings find their way back and that the thief is punished appropriately. But more than that, I hope you can soon feel safe again in your own home.
ReplyDeleteThank goodness no-one was home. I hope you can feel safe again soon and that your belongings come back.
ReplyDeleteHow aweful. It was good no one was at home. Hope you feel at ease again in your home very soon.
ReplyDeleteOh Elaray, that's terrible. I'm sorry to hear that. I've had it happen to and it's a very unsettleing feeling. I hope you get comfortable again soon.
ReplyDeleteElaray,
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear your home was robbed. It took me two or three years to feel comfortable again after mine was robbed. Allow yourself all the time you need. It does get better.
I'm so sorry to hear about this. It happened to me too a couple of months ago - it's just heartbreaking. Glad they caught the person, I just hope it dissuades him and his friends (I'm assuming it's a guy) from trying this again. Stay positive!

ReplyDeleteMay God continue to bless and keep your family safe. Your faith in times of tribulation is very inspiring to others. thank you!
ReplyDeleteBig Hugs to you! Yes, God definitely was protecting you and when it comes to the end, you've only lost replaceable things and not something worse.
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry and yes, you do feel comfortable again, but it does take a while. We had a break in some years ago when I went to pick up my dd and her friend from nursery school. I went into my bedroom and my first thought was, I know I'm messy, but not this messy! It is such an invasion of a place you feel safe, or should at any rate. At least they caught your thief and hopefully he spends some time in jail.
ReplyDeleteI can't even imagine how you feel, that is such a violation of privacy, I am sorry to hear that this happened to you, and I am glad to know that you or any of your family didn't get hurt, because in the end, material things can be replace but lives can't
ReplyDeleteI am soooo glad to hear that no one was hurt and that you and your daughter are safe. It's also comforting to know that the person was caught. I still hope to make contact with you when I get to Philly. I will get in at about 7 pm Sunday. Perhaps I will at least be able to buy you lunch/dinner. Stay encouraged!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry that you have had your private space invaded and your things taken. I pray that it won't be long until the peace for you and your family returns. You are strong and courageous.
ReplyDeleteOh man, I am so sorry to hear that. I'm glad to hear the thief was caught, so the PD is doing their job. I've been broken into myself and it is quite unsettling. Eventually though, you will feel normal again.
ReplyDeleteHow frightening. Luckily your bad guy was caught and no one was home. Hugs going out to you as I know it will take quite a while before home feels safe, secure, and your refuge again.
ReplyDeleteIt takes a while before you'll feel completely at home in your home again, but it will happen. Thankfully no one was home, not too much was taken and they got the guy pretty quickly. You can borrow my old camera if you want until your new one happens.
ReplyDeleteElaray, I am truly sorry to read about this theft. I have not had my home broken into but my DH and I have had a vehicle stolen and damaged beyond repair. One does feel so violated. I hope the camera is recovered and returned and so happy that you and your family are safe and were not home.
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear about your burglary. I've had it happen and I understand the feeling you have of not being comfortable in your own home. Maybe you need to invite some friends over and have a happy event to put some positive vibes back into your home. Sending good wishes your way.
ReplyDeleteAaacckkk! That is just so wrong! I'm so glad you are okay. How stickin' horrible.
ReplyDeleteHugs and prayers for you, Elaray. I hope you'll be feeling safe at home real soon.
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry you had this happen to you. I'm also glad the theif was caught too. Sending my blessings to you and your family. Thank god no one was home.
ReplyDeleteThat stinks! I, for one, would like to give the thief a piece of my mind. Don't they know I need my pictures of your work to inspire me?
ReplyDeleteI'm glad nobody was hurt. Maybe try changing the locks to help you feel safe again?
Elaray, I'm so sorry this happened! It's definitely unsettling to have your private space invaded, and I hope you're soon able to feel safe and comfortable at home again.
ReplyDeleteIt happened to me many years ago, too. I'm so sorry. Hugs, hugs. It took a while, but we all did manage to heal.
